Coming June 14th – Court Rentals at RCF West!

As Washington County & Multnomah County move through the phases of reopening, we’re beginning the process of opening Rose City Futsal as well. Starting on Sunday, June 14th, RCF West will be offering private Court Rentals for groups of 10 or less on Sundays and Mondays. RCF East will begin Court Rentals on Friday, June 26th, with Friday and Saturday time slots available.

All the details are up on our website, but here are some basics: Court Rentals are available in hour-long increments with the option of booking multiple or consecutive hours. We’re being very careful as we begin to open the doors and, as you would expect, there are guidelines for all court rentals intended to help with player and RCF staff safety. Thank you in advance for your help as we work through this together!

The Court Rental Reservation Page is live on our website so dust off your futsal gear and book your spot today!

The Pop-Up Blood Drive at RCF West ends NEXT WEDNESDAY. There are just 4 dates remaining to choose from (6/6, 6/8, 6/9 & 6/10)  so schedule your spot today. Hello Rose City Futsal Community!

We hope this email finds you healthy and well.

Not that we’re counting every minute, but it has been 57 days, 2 hours and 5 minutes since we closed our doors at RCF in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Honestly, it feels longer…and we miss you all very much.

Yesterday (May 7th) Governor Kate Brown announced her detailed plan to allow Oregon Counties to submit applications for limited reopening. We will be following the progress of these plans, along with the more specific guidelines for things like opening Youth Classes and Summer Camps, very carefully and will be prepared as we progress into these phases.

In the meantime, RCF remains closed with all employees furloughed…but we’re still excited to see some positive movements!

During this time, RCF Staffers have been meeting virtually for the last few weeks, and, starting today, you began to see some of the fun social media and outreach that are the product of these sessions. Here is a link to today’s post — with more on the way!

Please follow us to catch all the fun and tag us in all of your at-home training so we can share and learn from each other!

In other news:

We are still working on details for providing RCF customers who were mid-session/season when we closed credits for future services. Thank you for your patience as we sort this out.

Our plan is to send out a note via email each Friday as we work on details and begin to understand the possible paths for us to reopen.

Finally, I and the rest of the Rose City Futsal ownership group want to make sure you know this: We will be back.

RCF ownership is committed to reopening both locations and bringing back the staff we know and love as soon as it is safely possible. Until then, please stay healthy and know we’ll be counting the days, hours, and minutes until we’re back on the courts together.

Sincerely,

Kevin Murray
Managing Director, Rose City Futsal

To the RCF Staff and our Community,

The past week has been challenging to all of us. We hope you are safe and taking the steps to care for your family, yourself and your community.

We want to share details about Rose City Futsal and what is known at this time.

On March 2nd the Academy made the decision to cancel a trip to Italy for 8 of our players, coaches and families, based on health alerts.

On March 11th the Academy trip to Santa Clara in June was cancelled for all 13 teams.

On Thursday March 12 at 4:30 PM the senior leadership team met to discuss the growing COVID-19 crisis. At 5:00 PM we shut Rose City Futsal in Tigard and Portland. This included having our tenants APEX, GC Strength, THUSC, Tursi Soccer, and United PDX close down and work as quickly as possible to close tenant space from by Friday. We knew that this was going to cause economic harm and disruption to our staff and our community. However, the signs pointed toward the need to take this action. We could not have known how fast things would continue to change in the coming days. Our intention was to do our part to avoid contamination and spread. We planned to reopen in 2 to 4 weeks.

In the next few days the team focused on communicating to our community, completing payroll for the entire staff and securing the buildings.

On March 17th the RCF ownership met to plan for the care of the staff and plan for a reopening given the available information at the time. At that time, the information available pointed toward a much longer shutdown and although there was discussion of help from a Federal level there was no sign of help in the time necessary to continue. That evening the number of restaurants and small businesses closing operations (and laying off employees) in Portland become an overwhelming problem for the state unemployment agency.

On March 18th RCF notified all staff that they would be furloughed in order to apply for unemployment insurance. RCF is currently shut down and all communications and safety measures are being coordinated through our Managing Director, Kevin Murray. As senior leadership, we are being consulted and offering help where we can.

On March 23rd Oregon Governor K. Brown ordered a stay a home for the state.

Unfortunately, this crisis has meant that we have collected revenue for services that we cannot provide to you at this time. At this time, our policy is to provide a credit for future services. Thank you for your patience as we proceed.

It is our intention to open as soon as possible and welcome back our staff and our community. We are all watching the daily briefings from state Governors and the Coronavirus Task Force. Our primary concern is for the health and safety of our community. Please stay at home.
