RCF SELECT TEAMS
The Select Team program allows advanced players to reach their highest potential and grow their passion for the game. This year-long program provides consistent training with our top-level coaches and will challenge even the most technical players.
Futsal provides unparalleled benefits to player development with increased ball touches, need for speed, control, and quick decision making. Our competitive team trainings, seasonal leagues and tournaments provide the best augmentation to any outdoor season, but we also work to prepare young players for the challenges they face on and off the court. Our goal is to create not only top level soccer & futsal players but also great citizens.

Select Teams: FAQs
Q. When are tryouts? What day does my player need to attend?
A. Select Teams Tryouts are Saturday, May 18th & Sunday, May 19th, 2024. Click HERE to register. All players interested in trying out must attend both days. Full schedule below the FAQ section. Each session will be 1 hour long – providing players 2 hours total of tryout time.
If your player has a schedule conflict and is unable to attend both days, please email academy@rosecityfutsal.com your player’s name and what day they have a conflict. Please note, both days of tryouts are highly recommended for the best showing.
Q. What is the 2024/25 Season training Location and Time?
A. All Select Teams will train at RCF East for the 2024/25 season. See full training schedule below the FAQ section.
Q. What is the tryout and selection process like?
A. Select Teams are the highest-level teams and the highest level programming RCF offers.
If your player is currently in an All Levels class, we do not recommend that they try out for a Select team – these teams are highly competitive and are for RCF’s most experienced futsal players. The only exception may be for the youngest players trying out for our Pre-Select Teams
Players trying out for Select Teams should currently be in our Select program, in an advanced RCF Youth Academy class, or play club soccer at a high level (ECRL/ECNL, Gold, etc.)
We do not want to put less experienced players in a position where they will dramatically be behind the general level at tryouts. In the best interest of the player, RCF will review all player profiles (in RCF database) before tryouts and may recommend some players do not attend tryouts in general (e.g., players in All Levels classes). After the first day of tryouts, RCF staff may ask some players not to return for the second day.
NOTE: Please register your player to their actual birth year. If you register to the wrong age group we will move you to the correct group and email you of the correct time to arrive. Only the Technical Directors can make a decision to have a player tryout in an older age group.
Q. What age groups are you offering and what are the training groups?

Q. What is the difference between Select and Pre-Select programs?
A. The Select Program is a 10 month long program where the team competes in local youth leagues and state tournament(s) as well as the potential to travel and compete on the Regional, National and potentially International level
The Pre-Select Program is also a 10 month long program where the team competes in local youth leagues and state tournament(s). Pre-Select teams will not travel out of state to compete unless decided upon by the Technical Directors.
Q. How much does the Select Team cost for the year?
A. Cost varies from team to team based on what is offered. See Age Group Team Descriptions below FAQ Section
Q. Who are the coaches for each team next year?
A. See Coaching Assignments below FAQ Section
Q. How many teams do you form per age group? How many players per team?
A. We form 1 team per birth year with 7-9 players.
However, if there are not enough players that meet the standard of our Select Teams for a specific birth year, we may not form that age group. We also may create combined age groups if needed to form one strong team.
Q. Do you form Advanced or All Levels teams? If my player does not get selected for the Select Team, what other programming do you have at RCF?
A. We do not form Advanced or All Levels teams at this time. If your player is not selected for our Select Teams, we will recommend other programming where we see is best fit for your player. Other programming at RCF includes, but not limited to, Soccer Stars Classes, Youth Academy All Levels & Advanced Classes, and Camps.
Q. How do I confirm I’ve successfully registered my player to the Select Teams Tryouts?
A. Select Teams Tryouts are free to participate! For this reason, once you register, an invoice is not created and therefore our system does not send an automatic email confirmation. You may call, stop by the front desk or email us at info@rosecityfutsal.com to confirm your player is registered. Registration will stay open to all until the start of tryouts.
