Our Soccer Stars classes offer kids a positive environment to get comfortable with the ball while having fun. Each 7-week session helps young players build basic motor and social skills, and helps older players learn proper soccer technique. Our children’s soccer classes in Portland are the perfect way to get young players ready for the fast-paced fun of soccer and futsal.

For children’s soccer in Portland at RCF, your child should wear a comfortable shirt or training jersey, athletic shorts or sweats, and flat-soled sneakers or futsal-specific shoes. We recommend wearing shin guards, but these aren’t required for Twinkle Stars or Little Stars.
We’ll provide participants with a training jersey at the start of each session as needed.
Super Stars is a great class for beginners new to soccer and futsal. This class will focus on the basics of technique, introducing concepts like toe touches, tic tocs, and sole roles. These movements are used in Mega Stars and expanded upon throughout the various levels of the classes we offer
If your child has participated in multiple Soccer classes at RCF or elsewhere and you feel that they are ready for a new challenge, Mega Stars may be a good option for them.
We do offer scholarships/financial aid for our Academy programming. Our goal is to ensure that all players have the opportunity to participate, and experience the heart of the game, regardless of financial circumstances. A 6 year old has 3 different class options they can choose from at RCF:
If your player has never played soccer or futsal before, we recommend starting in Super Stars
If your player has played soccer before or has played at RCF for a few sessions, we recommend either Mega Stars or Youth Academy All Levels.
It is ultimately up to the family to decide if they think their player would thrive as the oldest end of the class or the youngest end of the class.
Our Soccer Stars classes are perfect for any kid who loves to kick the ball around! At RCF, we create the perfect space for children’s soccer in Portland, where they’ll have a fun environment to get moving and get excited!
We’ll work on basic skills and technique, but from the very beginning, our main goal is helping your child learn to love the game.
Step 1
You can register your child for a Soccer Stars class online! Our registration site lists specific details, including the location, dates, and day of the week.
Step 2
During Week 1 of Soccer Stars Classes, all players must stop at the front desk to check in, confirm registration, receive a RCF training shirt, and be pointed to which court they will be playing on.
Step 3
SHOES: Futsal shoes or any flat-sole athletic shoes. No cleats or turf shoes! Please change into your futsal shoes INSIDE the building!
GEAR: Athletic wear to play in. Shin guards are required for Super Stars & Mega Stars (Shin guards are not required for Twinkle Stars and Little Stars).
HYDRATE: Don't forget your water bottle!
Step 4
While your player is having a blast, you can kick back in Clive's Pub (if open) or watch from your perch on the Mezzanine level. Or feel free to cheer them on from the main floor!
