For our most advanced young athletes, we offer Select Teams as our highest-level program at RCF. Throughout this year-long program, we provide consistent training with top-level coaches and opportunities to compete against players with similar skills and abilities. If you're looking for competitive soccer clubs in Portland, RCF's Select Teams provide players with incredible opportunities for development.
The Next Step for Top Players
Our Select Teams are ideal for young players with advanced skills who want to reach their highest potential and improve their technical skills. Players who want to try out for Select Teams must be current participants in our Select Team program, an advanced RCF Youth Academy class, or high-level competitive soccer clubs in Portland (ECRL/ECNL, Gold, etc.).

Select Team Tryouts take place in May at Rose City Futsal WEST. For tryouts, players should plan on attending both days of tryouts, and please register for the correct age group based on your child’s birth year.

Our Select Team program is excited to partner with Louise Arsenault, author and creator of The Mindset Program
Louise will be working with our teams and hosting bi-weekly webinars from October-December to help build lasting confidence, resilience, and a stronger foundation both on and off the field. Also included is three Parent Webinars (once a month).

Frequently Asked Select Team Questions
The Select Team program is a 10-month program where teams compete in local youth leagues and state tournament(s). They also have the potential to travel and compete on a Regional, National, and sometimes even International level.
The Pre-Select Team program is also a 10-month program where the team competes in local youth leagues and state tournament(s). Pre-Select teams will not travel out of state to compete unless decided upon by the Technical Directors.
Pre-Select Teams are for our younger players and can help prepare them for Select Teams or other competitive soccer clubs in Portland.
Our Select Team program forms one highly competitive team per age group–we do not form Advanced or All Levels teams in the Select program at this time. We now also offer RCF Academy Teams, a program designed for Youth Academy players who want to join an RCF Coached Youth League Team. This is an add-on for current Youth Academy players with games played in the Winter 2 and Spring Youth League seasons.
If your player is not selected for our Select Teams, we will recommend another program for your player to join. Other programming at RCF includes, but is not limited to, Soccer Stars classes, Youth Academy All Levels & Advanced classes, RCF Academy Teams and camps.
Select Teams Tryouts are $15 per participant and you should have received an automatic email confirmation. You may call, stop by the front desk, or email us at info@rosecityfutsal.com to confirm your player is registered. Registration will stay open to all until the start of tryouts.
Fun and Competition Throughout the Year
Our Select Team program spans ages 6 to 18. Our younger players have the opportunity to join a Pre-Select Team, while high-school age players should check out our High School Select Team page.
Select Team training begins in September at RCF East. The number of weekly trainings and the duration of the training schedule varies by age level. Over the course of the next 10 months, players will have opportunities to play in seasonal leagues and tournaments. They’ll also travel to regional, national, and even potentially international tournaments.

How to Get Started at RCF
Step 1
Tryouts
Tryouts take place over 2 days in May. We will organize one team per birth year with 7 to 9 of the top players from that age group.
Step 2
Get a Membership
All players must have a valid player/membership card to play at Rose City Futsal. The annual RCF membership costs $25 and includes the printed Player Card.
Step 3
Train and Play!
Once your child makes the team, we'll discuss tuition, training schedules, and games. Training begins in September and lasts until the end of May for most of our Select Teams.
